Facelift

(Rhytidectomy)

PROCEDURE
Dr. Salloum can improve sagging facial skin, jowls, and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping skin. Most often done on men and women over 40.

LENGTH
Several hours.

ANESTHESIA
Local with sedation, or general.

IN/OUTPATIENT
Usually outpatient. Some patients may require a short inpatient stay.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness and tenderness of skin. Tight feeling, dry skin. For men, may need to shave behind the ears where facial hair-growing skin is repositioned.

RECOVERY
Back to work in 10 to 14 days. Resume most strenuous activities in 2 weeks or more. Bruising diminishes in 2 to 3 weeks. Limited sun exposure for several months.

All surgical procedures involve specific risks. Dr. Salloum will discuss this with you at the time of consultation.

RESULTS
Usually 5 to 10 years.
