Laser Resurfacing addresses the problems of facial wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and blotchiness, age spots, and certain scars. The procedure can lighten and resurface sun-damaged and wrinkled skin by removing the top layers so that new, healthier skin can emerge. While chemical peels use a caustic solution, laser resurfacing involves the use of a computer-controlled laser beam to vaporize skin rather than with chemicals. Some people can also benefit from the laser’s tightening ability, especially on the lower eyelid and perioral (around the mouth) areas.
